Lacoste : fashion show spring-summer 2017 in New York with interview

Designer : felipe oliveira baptista location : spring studios. luxurious vegetation and blue sky in the heart of the tribeca quarter. silhouette : a tennis match on the roof of the villa malaparte in capri. the designer mixes the desire for the summer and the sun with comfort, softness and sportswear. focus on : the coat- the dressing gown and the sweater with the big hood, bustier dresses, finishing with jackets that can be unbuttoned at the sleeves, suits for men and women with tennis stripes. to note : the prints at once sketches and graffitis that became crocodiles and dashes of colours. interview from felipe oliveira baptista :this was this idea of ‘endlessness’, sort of summer without an end, outings to the beach, things that are easy to put on, to wear. i had fun doing the drawings by hand and the graffitis, and also the crocodiles, with a bit of humour too. the sailor shirts were reinterpreted here like hand-painted stripes, to give this idea of something made by hand like with everything actually, the fabrics are really natural, the cottons piqué were washed lots of times to be like my dad’s 20 year old polo-neck, that is a lot softer, that has already lived. we have always created a parallel between boys and girls such as this dressing gown, that the girl will wear and wrap the chord around twice and that can be very chic but with the guy he can also wear it loose, the same piece can have an allure and a very different way of wearing it between the boy and the girl, i also really like this idea that has a bit of communication between the two wardrobes. lacoste at the origin is, this polo also, when rené lacoste cut the sleeves of his white shirt, it was also a movement of liberation and after that it always stayed with this idea of modernity as well as the idea that the clothing has to do something for the person who wears it. and so i find that’s always interesting to keep in mind. music from the fashion show (use only in the context of the show, protected by the right to information)
