Missoni - Menswear Spring/Summer 2015 Collection in Milan (with interview)

This mixed casting perfectly complements a style stamped with exoticism, and the surfer which we saw last winter comes back for next summer, with several references to the underwater world. On the carpeted runway, a metallic Berber tent structure covered in a patchwork of materials allows us to discover the inspiration behind the prints: North Africa. The Missoni adventurer dresses exclusively in wool. Worked in a very light fashion, knitwear is even worn next to the skin, in the form of a sleeveless zipped waistcoat, which reappears throughout the collection, even worn beneath a suit jacket. Zigzag graphics, the trademark of the house, were offered this time in blue, yellow and ochre. Easiness dominates on long djellaba jumpers and ultra supple knitted suits. A scarf slung over the shoulder emphasises this refined nonchalance that bodes well for the summer!Interview:Angela Missoni:For this collection, I continued with my surfer that I started on last winter and this season, I followed him along the coast of North Africa, and there are different inspirations behind the palette. There are the colours of the souks and spices and a boy who is very free-spirited, very cosmopolitan, hedonistic and slightly bohemian who finds ideas for his wardrobe by looking at styles from around the world. The inspiration came from a kind of lifejacket and you can see this throughout the collection, even with the suits and other more formal pieces, as is always the case at Missoni, so it is very colourful and there are lots of textures. All the fabrics are made by us in our factory, so they are completely exclusive and this season we added these towelling effects. Towelled knitwear gives it lightness, freshness and the twisted cotton also remains very fresh, even on the knitted djellabahs that you can see are embroidered underneath, but everything is very light even if it has a slightly thicker appearance.
