Best of Milan: spectacle, creativity, art and daring… the events which marked Milan Fashion Week.

There was art, (with notably a first ever exhibition in celebration of Italian fashion), entertainment and spectacle over six days of shows for an extended Milan fashion week. It was Moncler who opened the festivities and created buzz. The brand who specialises in puffer coats presented eight capsule collections (including one with Pierpaolo Picciolo and Simone Rocha), available in stores at a rate of one per month, a new way to create desire, according to Remo Ruffini, head of the label. But Milan also represents the power of big houses like Gucci, the spearhead of new dynamism in Italian fashion with the uninhibited designs of Alessandro Michele. Even if this season, his scenography was somewhat anxious, with décor in the form of an operating theatre and models carrying their own heads, snakes or dragons, leaving guests perplexed!A shock of images which followed several days later with the Dolce & Gabbana show, which certainly won the battle of social media with drones and bags flying above the catwalk!!!Milan is also home to internationally renowned houses, such as Fendi with this season a change at the head of management and the arrival of Serge Brunschwig, with Karl Lagerfeld loyal to the position for 53 years alongside Silvia Venturini Fendi. The unmissable show from Giorgio Armani at 83 years old.Milan is also the power of a house like Prada, who welcomed guests in a new foundation designed by architect Rem Koolhaas and injected colour in its wardrobe.Or other labels such as Emilio Pucci, who with the support of LVMH, redefined a new offensive strategy. Milan is also festive, jubilant fashion, with another house, Etro, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, or Missoni with its dynamic colours. Noting the return to the stage of the house Jil Sander especially with the second collection from Luke and Lucie Meier. Equally, the creative work on materials by Marco de Vincenzo, the freshness of the label MSGM or Arthur Arbesser or that of Francesco Risso for Marni.A fashion week which ends with Tommy Hilfiger. After New York, Los Angeles and London, the American designer makes his stop in Milan to present his last collection in collaboration with Gigi Hadid. Blaring décor, with a life size racing circuit! Exceptional means for a fashion that never ceases to make us dream!Music Bandit & Nikit - 2018
