Aquilano.Rimondi - Women's Autumn-Winter 2017/18 collection in Milan (with interviews)

Designers : Roberto Rimondi & Tommaso Aquilano Inspiration : the many personalities of a woman. The strength and power she symbolizes. And a little reference to Joan of Arc for the warrior side of modern times.Silhouette : a tad “nineties” silhouette with a focus on the shoulders and on the marked waist. The ample volumes, printed motifs in the masculine universe (micro and maxi hound’s-tooth cloth, Prince of Wales, tennis stripes) and a lot of mixing materials.Focus : on the light and brightness with pearl and sequin embroidery, and metallic chain mail. The contrast of colours (violet and blue) and cropped jackets. The body conscious and sportswear spirit with a trouser jumpsuit and a knit crop topTo note : the asymmetric cuts of the skirts, the stilettos or thigh high boots with incurved heels.Interview with Roberto Rimondi & Tommaso Aquilano :The inspiration is the same every season, the masculine and feminine at the same time. She’s a contemporary, a bit classic, Milanese woman, but at the same time we took inspiration from heroine Joan of Arc.For us it’s the emblem of femininity, but at the same time the powerful woman, but the power to be yourself. There are important shoulders, there are natural shoulders, of masculine checks, but at the same tile there are very light crepe skirts, in woolen crêpe and then there's the work we do every season, it’s to work with new embroideries, new embroidery techniques like, for example, a masculine micro tweed Like Joan of Arc, there are very worked mesh dresses, but it’s the technique which is made of new mesh because it’s the aluminum, plastic and crystals. It’s very, very light, but at the same time it’s very hard and very strong. The woman can be dressed in velvet, but at the same time she can be very strong, present and sensual.Music from the show (only to be used in the context of the show, protected by the right to information.)
